'If Adani sends money, I'll keep quiet' says Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Former BJP leader Ramtahal Choudhary, a five-time MP from Ranchi Lok Sabha seat, joined Congress on March 28, but his stint with the party lasted less than a month. Choudhary announced his departure from Congress on Saturday, citing broken promises regarding his candidature for the Ranchi seat.
Choudhary expressed disappointment over the party's failure to honor its commitment to field him as its candidate for the Ranchi seat. He said, he cannot compromise his honor, especially after being assured of candidacy by the party.
The decision came after Congress nominated Yashaswini Sahay, daughter of former MP Subodh Kant Sahay, as its candidate for the Ranchi seat, a move that left Choudhary discontented.
On the prospect of contesting elections post his exit from Congress, Choudhary stated that he would consult party workers before making any decision in this regard.
